Senior Liability Adjuster

The Senior Liability Adjuster is responsible for conducting office investigations and adjusting commercial general liability claims, with a strong focus on litigated cases and exposures that may exceed policy limits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling large and catastrophic losses
  • Analyzing construction and other contracts
  • Reviewing and interpreting insurance policies
  • Developing risk transfer strategies and evaluating priority of coverage
  • Taking a proactive approach in negotiating claim resolutions
  • Investigating losses and identifying coverage issues
  • Assessing coverage and distinguishing covered vs. uncovered claims
  • Assigning panel counsel to defend insureds
  • Collaborating with legal counsel to develop litigation strategies
  • Reviewing evidence, reports, and medical records
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate indemnity and expense reserves
  • Processing claim payments
  • Conducting interviews with insureds, claimants, and witnesses

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

  • At least 10 years of prior experience adjusting CGL and BOP liability claims
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Attorney license a plus
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret coverage
  • Expertise in analyzing insurance policies and relevant contracts to determine priority of coverage and risk transfer strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to occasionally travel to hearings, mediations, trials, and conferences
