Job Title: Product Designer (UX) – Internal Tools & Platforms
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid; minimum 3 days/week onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (via Emerge Talent)
Salary Range: $90,000 – $145,000 annually

About the Role:
Emerge Talent is hiring a Product Designer to support our client’s internal platforms and tooling design team. In this internal-facing role, you'll work on tools and systems used by employees and partners—not external customers. The focus is on improving operational efficiency, user satisfaction, and usability for internal stakeholders across a global enterprise.
This is a contract role with the potential for long-term engagement, offering the opportunity to design at scale and make a meaningful impact on internal user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Improve the UX and UI design of internal tools and enterprise platforms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Research, and Operations
Ensure smooth implementation by working closely with Engineering partners
Leverage research and analytics to design practical, insight-driven solutions
Translate complex internal workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences
Share and present design work for feedback, alignment, and iteration
Help refine internal design and collaboration processes
Advocate for internal users and elevate their experience through thoughtful design
Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in UX and interaction design
Experience designing internal tools or enterprise software is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Figma and other industry-standard design/prototyping tools
Strong understanding of design systems and component reuse
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Willingness to work onsite in NYC at least 3 days per week
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with UX writing and crafting effective microcopy
Familiarity with information architecture and enterprise workflows
Ability to create journey maps and service blueprints
Experience in regulated or highly structured industries
A portfolio that demonstrates your design process and outcomes
