Job Opportunity: Environmental Senior Attorney – Washington, DC or Richmond, VA

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Environmental Senior Attorney to join its highly ranked Environmental Law practice group. This non-partnership track position offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work on complex regulatory and litigation matters in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

About the Role

As a senior attorney, you will:

  • Advise clients on chemical control regulations under TSCA, FIFRA, and similar federal or state programs.

  • Handle matters related to the review, testing, and reporting of chemical substances as well as pesticide registration, labeling, and advertising.

  • Work on agency rulemaking, enforcement defense, or litigation involving environmental regulations.

  • Collaborate with a diverse team on long-term projects for established clients in industries such as chemicals and pesticides.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 10 years of experience in private practice, trade associations, or government agencies handling environmental regulatory matters.

  • Expertise in TSCA and FIFRA compliance, enforcement defense, or litigation.

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in a scientific or engineering discipline and/or professional experience in the chemical or pesticide industry (preferred).

  • Experience working at the EPA (e.g., Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention) is a plus.

  • Active bar membership in DC or Virginia (required within one year of joining).
