Dredge Operations Manager

Houston, TX
Full Time
Mid Level
Dredge Operations Manager

About the Role:
We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Dredge Operations Manager to help lead the charge on dredging projects throughout our inland waterways. If you know your way around heavy equipment, understand the ins and outs of dredging, and are comfortable taking charge in the field, this could be a great fit. This role is all about keeping things moving safely, efficiently, and within budget — while making sure we’re staying on top of environmental rules and timelines.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Overseeing daily dredging work — from moving equipment to handling sediment and water.
  • Leading the dredge crew and keeping subcontractors and equipment operators on track.
  • Lining up work plans and schedules with the rest of the team, including project managers and engineers.
  • Tracking progress, documenting what’s happening on-site, and flagging any delays or issues.
  • Looking for ways to do the job better, faster, and more cost-effectively.
  • Making sure we’re playing by the rules — especially when it comes to permits and environmental standards.
  • Staying on top of dredge equipment maintenance to keep things running smoothly.
  • Partnering with environmental inspectors and agencies to make sure we’re doing things right.
  • Acting as the go-to person for clients and anyone else involved in the dredging side of things.
What We’re Looking For:
  • At least 4 years of experience in dredging or heavy civil work, including some time in a leadership role. A degree in a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic and mechanical dredging methods and the gear involved.
  • A working knowledge of environmental rules and permits (like those from the USACE or EPA).
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills — someone who can communicate well and keep the team motivated.
  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors in all kinds of conditions.
You’ll Need To:
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outside in all kinds of weather.
  • Be okay with working long hours or night shifts when the project calls for it.
This is a great opportunity to take on a leadership role in a hands-on environment with real impact. If you're ready to jump in and keep operations running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.
